Donatella Gasparro is a PhD candidate in Political Science & Sociology at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Florence, Italy) and at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB) within the project REAL - A Post-Growth Deal. She is part of the editorial collective of the Italian degrowth quarterly Quaderni della Decrescita and is active in spreading and teaching degrowth in Italy and internationally.

Here we are again: a position in the degrowth movement becomes apparent, strong, almost dominant, and the other side responds, feeling misrepresented. And in reacting, it inevitably ends up claiming to be the herald of the “true Degrowth” and rejecting the contribution of the other side.
